Daily Schedule

The Montessori Work Period: The work period is a time of intense concentration and purposeful work. During these work periods children work individually or in small groups on specific materials designed in all areas of the curriculum. The teachers observe the children as they work and intervene only when necessary and beneficial to the child’s well being. Lessons, where a child is introduced to a new concept, are usually given by the teacher in a one on one setting with the child.

Lunch: The school rearranges the tables and chairs so that we sit in small groups with tablecloths on the tables and flowers as centerpieces. It is our goal to model and teach proper table manners and to encourage politeness. Children bring their lunch from home.
